Mullingar Area Based Transport Assessment - Traffic Surveys

Westmeath County Council have appointed IDASO Ltd to carry out Traffic Surveys at various locations, in and around Mullingar, starting from Monday 8th May for a period of two weeks.

Automatic traffic counters and survey cameras will be installed at various locations to record pedestrian and vehicle traffic count data.  The results of traffic data collected during these surveys will be used to inform the Mullingar Area Based Transport Assessment (ABTA) currently being developed by Systra Ltd.

The surveys are fully GDPR compliant and solely for the purpose of supplying statistical data.

Cavan Area Based Transport Plan - Traffic Surveys

We are delighted to be working with Cavan County Council and DBFL Consulting Engineers on a survey project in Cavan town. Our survey equipment will be in place from the 24th of March 3rd of April 2023 collecting traffic movement data to inform the Cavan Area Based Transport Plan.

Tullamore Traffic Surveys

Offaly County Council have appointed IDASO Ltd to carry out Traffic & Parking surveys at various locations, in and around Tullamore, starting from Monday 27th February for a period of two weeks.

Automatic Traffic Counters and cameras will be installed at various locations to record pedestrian and vehicle traffic counts. 

The results of traffic data collected during these surveys will be used to inform the Tullamore Transport Plan / Area Based Transport Assessment (ABTA) currently being developed.

Bus Connects Cork Traffic Surveys

Idaso will be conducting traffic surveys across Cork city from the 20th of February to the 8th of March to help inform the planning of BusConnects Cork.

BusConnects Cork is a €600 million investment in Cork’s sustainable transport system, to be implemented by 2030 under the Government’s National Development Plan and the Climate Action Plan 2023. Its objective is to transform the overall bus system to make it more useful to more people and, in parallel, deliver safe cycling facilities on key corridors. Together with the other elements of the Cork Metropolitan Area Transport Strategy, BusConnects Cork will enable Cork to become an even more dynamic, connected and internationally competitive city.

N3 Virginia Traffic Surveys

Yet another big survey fortnight for us here in Idaso. This time we are delighted to be working with Cavan County Council to deliver a comprehensive data collection programme in the vicinity of Virginia town. The survey includes the collection of statistical traffic data across 195 locations from the 8th to the 23rd of October.

Westport Local Transport Plan Surveys

Idaso is delighted to be working with Mayo County Council to collect statistical traffic survey data in the Town of Westport this week. The data is required in relation to the Westport Local Transport Plan (LTP) project within the Westport area, Co. Mayo on behalf of Mayo County Council (the Contracting Authority). The data collection aims to establish current traffic and parking patterns in and around Westport Town and will be ongoing for the week commencing the 19th of September 2022

North Dublin Traffic Surveys

Idaso is working on a data collection project across numerous location in the North Dublin Area over the next two weeks. The purpose of the data collection exercise is to gather a base line of vehicle, cyclist and pedestrian flow data against which future developments can be measured. There are numerous types of sensors being used including pneumatic tube counters and low resolution time-lapse cameras. There is no personal data being collected during this exercise as the cameras are set to such a low quality that faces and registration plates are obfuscated. Key Duties / Responsibilities

The role will involve a number of different aspects including;

  • Delivering transport data reports to our clients within given timescales.

  • Completing logic and validation checks on data to company standard operating procedures.

  • Compiling reports and headline statistics on the data.

  • Liaising with key stakeholders, including others within the project team and clients to ensure that reports are delivered to a high standard and delivered in a user friendly manner

Traffic Surveys in Athlone

As part of the Athlone Area Based Transport Assessment (ABTA) study Idaso ltd has been selected by Westmeath County Council to capture traffic volume and movement data within the study area.

N24 Waterford to Cahir and N24 Cahir to Limerick Junction Traffic Surveys

Idaso is delighted to have been appointed to collected statistical traffic data on both the N24 Waterford to Cahir Project and N24 Cahir to Limerick Junction Project. Survey equipment will be installed across the the surrounding region between 1st and 18th of September 2021.

Kilkenny County Council, in partnership with Tipperary County Council, Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) and the Department of Transport (DoT) are developing the N24 Waterford to Cahir Project. The project has been identified for progression through pre-appraisal and early planning under the National Development Plan 2018-2027. Kilkenny County Council, as lead authority, has appointed Arup as Technical Advisors to progress the Planning and Design for the project through Phases 1 to 4 of the TII Project Management Guidelines (PMG) as outlined below.

  • Phase 1 – Concept and Feasibility – Complete

  • Phase 2 – Options Selection – Current Phase

  • Phase 3 – Design and Environmental Evaluation

  • Phase 4 – Statutory Processes
